It is very nitrogen and potassium demanding. Similar to corn. Grains and fiber plants grow best in good soil. The plant is very intolerant to flooding, so it need to be careful with soil high in clay because it holds moisture.

You can grow hemp on marginal soil and you’ll get a marginal crop.
